Back on I-10 again – roads around Lafayette are poor but once out of the area they surely improved. Rain did come but we continued on knowing that it was going to be on and off all day.
We did make our last visit to a Louisiana Deli/meat market – oh wow – lots of people and lots of choices – and it was good – will miss the Louisiana delicacies.
Arrived at East Lucas RV Park – in a tough looking part of town but its only 2 days. Small park with gravel roads and gravel sites – lots of trees and lots of live-ins. Owner warned us to be ready for lots of fireworks (due to NYE).
We are here to celebrate NYE in our own quiet way. Which we did with a cheese plate and lots of wine – Gundlach Bundschu Merlot.
Tuesday woke up to “no” hangover and ready to face the day.
We did take the dogs and a jaunt out to Big Thicket National Preserve – closed because someone in Washington can’t get their way. We did find a trail and hiked about 2 miles – kind of nice through the bayou and forest.
Had our black eyed peas for dinner.
Wednesday is off to Livingston, Texas.
