All interstate to New York and packed with people – where is everyone going at 11 in the morning? Made it to the Croton Pointe Park and Campground by 2 PM. Checked in and we are in a small park with lots of trees but decent size lots and FHU – yes we did get SAT. Nice Lake by the campground.
Visited with my nephew Eric Wilson and his family. Watched Michigan football and had dinner – nice time – even entertained by the kids with songs and Pokémon. Glad to have an opportunity to see Eric’s family and spend time with them. Unfortunately I forget to take pics unless I have the camera around my neck.
Sunday we did find a church not too far down the road and attended. First time in probably 25 years found a church that still does Page 5 – have to be an old die-hard Lutheran to understand.
Then we drove up to Bear Mountain – so pretty along the Hudson River.
Then over to West Point – didn’t realize where the exact location of the Army base was that created so many military leaders. Did a walk through on the museum and another building that walked you through the life of a cadet in school there – not an easy life – you can understand why those who followed this path were so talented in war.
On the way home found Peekskill Brewery with a very good IPA
Monday is off to New York City.
