What a contrast in driving – Illinois is all cornfields and Indiana all hills and woods. Enjoyable trip on I-64 as the road was smooth and the scenery pleasing to the eye.
Probably could have made it all the way to Bardstown KY (our destination goal) but I had a return at Cabela’s and you don’t find them everywhere – there is one in Louisville, KY – and besides you can stay overnight for free – why not.
We made our return and took the dogs to Holsoppe Brewing Co – someone said they had food trucks – but not tonight – but the beer was cold.
Saturday we relocated to Bardstown – where my cousin and Aunt live.
Arrived at White Acres RV park and it was a small campground (but they are expanding) with small gravel roads and fairly level gravel sites – about 3 miles west of town.
Went over to Denise and Mike’s house (my aunt now lives with her). Great visit and we had lunch and dinner and went to the downtown Concert night and enjoyed some local music.
Sunday they wanted us back for breakfast, more visiting and we then took a visit to Lux Row Distillery – new in town and learned more about bourbon.
Brenda and my Aunt Angie shared family information from the Presto side – we were able to gather up information we didn’t have.
After dinner we returned home and rested – I think Denise, Mike and Angie did too.
Visiting family is always a great memory!
Monday we are off to Frankfurt, KY.
